Jamie created vintage scarf pillows (ONE OF A KIND COLLECTION) as an homage to the most important fashion statement in history – the SCARF.
The vintage scarf pillows include designs by Vera Neumann, Emilio Pucci, Pierre Saint Martin and Richard Allen to name a few. The signatures have been retained whenever possible.
EVOLUTION OF THE SCARF:
1920’s era: scarves were commonly worn around the head during the roaring 20’s and usually had floral paisley patterns
1930’s era: scarves became more soft and demure worn around the head or shoulders with feminine floral patterns, polka dots or stripes
1940’s era: scarves became vibrant and used as a statement pop of color and often worn in the hair
1950’s era: scarves became more artistic and were seen as sexy and classy thanks to Audrey Hepburn and mostly worn in the hair
1960’s era: scarves became “mod” with an ethnic, pop art and geometric twist
1970’s era: scarves became bohemian, ethnic and disco!
All pillows are made by hand in Austin, Texas and are filled with a custom down/feather insert (included in price).
